Experience northern Dalmatia
Roman streets, island mornings, hidden coves, mountain paths, the long way to lunch — and a garden to come home to.
Protect time for the villa
From Kožino, divide the stay among Zadar, Nin, beaches, islands, national parks, food and wine — but leave space for the place you came to enjoy. The best Lostura week is not the one with the most pins on the map. It is the one that still has room for the pool, garden and table.

Move your way
An active stay does not need to become a training camp. Choose one good hour, one full mountain day or a wind-led afternoon — then return to a villa made for recovery and long evenings outside.
Run at first light towards Diklo and Zadar, or north towards Petrčane, Zaton and Nin. Begin with an out-and-back that fits the day, then extend it gradually.
Explore runningMake movement the slower ritual of the stay: sea air, conversation and a little farther each day, with no target more important than the right turnaround.
Explore walkingRide the coast towards Zadar or Nin, use an official Nin Riviera loop, or plan a more exposed performance day towards Pag or Maslenica.
Compare cycling routesCompare courts in Petrčane, Zaton, Borik and Zadar. Contact each venue directly to confirm visitor access, surface, coaching and availability for your dates.
Find a tennis courtFollow the forecast to Nin’s lagoon and Ždrijac Beach. Beginners should learn with a qualified instructor; ask specialist providers directly about kiting, windsurfing or wing-foiling lessons and equipment for your dates.
Explore wind sportsMake Paklenica the larger active day: limestone walls, canyon paths and routes for very different experience levels, followed by private recovery back at Lostura.
Open the Paklenica guidePlay at Višnjik, Zadar’s impressive sports complex, or choose Padel Club Dalmatia for three indoor and two outdoor courts. One energetic match still leaves the rest of the day for Lostura.
Plan a padel matchTennis and padel courts, bicycle hire, equipment, lessons and wind-sport sessions are external services and are reserved directly by guests. Availability and conditions should be checked for the dates of the stay.
Plan a Paklenica dayRoutes from the villa
The coast invites simple movement, but a route recommendation should be more than a line on a map. These are the useful directions today, with an honest distinction between official regional routes and Lostura-start concepts still awaiting a complete field check.
Spring and autumn are the natural seasons. In summer, experienced riders should leave early and plan heat, water, traffic and wind.
A coffee-and-culture direction for a shorter ride. The lowest-traffic villa-start alignment, crossings and secure bike parking still need a final field check before we publish GPX guidance.
The natural northbound coastal idea. An official regional route covers Zadar, Petrčane, Zaton and Nin; Lostura’s exact start and safest joining point will be published only after a field check.
The official Zadar Bike Magic map lists this flat 12.6 km route with 32 m elevation. It is separate from the ride between Lostura and Nin, so plan transport or combine it only after checking the complete day’s route.
An exposed shared-road concept, not a family route. Distance, traffic, water, heat and wind must be planned for the chosen turnaround before setting out.
A longer shared-road concept with Velebit scenery. We will add the exact distance, ascent and GPX only after the full alignment has been ridden and checked.
Use an out-and-back so the session remains flexible. First light suits hot weather; spring, autumn and calm winter days make longer efforts more natural.
Use a flexible out-and-back and turn when the session is complete. The final route will mark pavement gaps, crossings, traffic, water and lighting segment by segment.
A natural coastal direction for an easier morning session. Choose the turnaround to suit the weather and daylight; exact surface notes are being field-checked.
Build distance in verified segments rather than assuming one continuous promenade. In warm weather, start early, carry water and plan the return honestly.
Let the route grow through the week instead of forcing distance on day one. Recover with the pool, counter-current system, jacuzzi and sauna at Lostura.
Walk after breakfast, make one day deliberately longer or return to Nin for lagoon scenery. The point is movement without a stopwatch.
A relaxed direction for sea air and conversation. Turn it into a coffee walk or continue only as far as the route, light and temperature feel comfortable.
Make Petrčane the purpose or simply use the northbound coast as an out-and-back. Exact surface, shade and road-interface notes are being field-checked.
Treat this as a sequence of checked sections, not a promised continuous promenade from the villa. Arrange the start or return if the full distance is not right for the group.
Combine early Croatian history with open lagoon scenery. Nin’s official tourism library also includes a dedicated walking-through-the-year guide.
Before you set out: official Zadar Bike Magic routes are planning aids, not guaranteed formal bikeways. Check current road, surface and weather conditions; use suitable equipment and ride or walk within your ability. Exact Lostura-start GPX files will appear only after their full alignments have been checked.

Padel near Villa Lostura
Padel fits the Lostura rhythm beautifully: four people, one lively hour and no need to turn the day into a programme. Višnjik is our first-choice setting; Padel Club Dalmatia adds excellent indoor and outdoor flexibility.
Make the match part of a visit to Zadar’s impressive sports complex. Check current court access, booking conditions, equipment and opening times directly before leaving the villa.
Open Višnjik in Google MapsThree indoor and two outdoor courts make this the practical choice when heat, rain or wind should not decide the match. Availability and all services are confirmed directly with the club.
Both venues are independent of Villa Lostura. Guests reserve and pay directly; current access, prices, racket hire, coaching and court availability should be confirmed with the venue.

Nin, more than once
Nin does not have to be a single sightseeing stop. Return for history and salt, reach it by bicycle, slow down beside the sandy lagoon or follow the forecast to Ždrijac.
Walk the old town, the Church of the Holy Cross and the Roman remains; add St Nicholas and Nin’s salt story for a fuller half-day.
Open the Nin guideRide north through Petrčane and Zaton, or use Nin as the start of the official 12.6 km Privlaka–Sabunike loop. Keep the two routes distinct when planning distance.
Compare cycling routesPair the historic centre with Queen’s Beach and Nin’s shallow lagoon. It works especially well when the day should feel easy rather than scheduled.
Choose a beach dayUse the forecast, current local advice and your real ability. Beginners should book instruction; no day on the Adriatic comes with a wind guarantee.
See Nin’s active guideNin & Ždrijac
Nin’s official 2026 guide lists a kiteboarding school at Ždrijac Beach for kiteboarding, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. Beginners should learn with an instructor; experienced riders should still check the forecast, local rules and current beach conditions. If wing foiling is the goal, ask specialist regional providers to confirm lessons, rental and the appropriate launch spot for your dates; the Nin listing referenced here does not currently promise that service.

Plan your stay
A seven-night stay can hold one city day, one coastal day and one signature excursion without sacrificing Lostura. With ten or fourteen nights, northern Dalmatia opens more slowly and naturally.
Good to know
A balanced week can combine Zadar, Nin, a chosen beach or island day, one national-park or city excursion and several unplanned days for Villa Lostura’s pool, garden, wellness and outdoor table.
Yes. Kožino near Zadar gives road access to Paklenica, Krka and Plitvice, while Kornati is reached by boat. Historic cities and coastal activities can be combined with private recovery at the villa. Plitvice is the longer road day, so not every excursion should be scheduled into one week.
Yes. Guests can walk or run towards Diklo and Zadar or north towards Petrčane, Zaton and Nin; cycle coastal and official Nin Riviera routes; contact courts in Petrčane, Zaton, Borik or Zadar; and follow the forecast for seasonal wind sports at Nin and Ždrijac. Court hire, equipment, lessons and guided sessions are booked directly with the relevant provider.
Current options include Hotel Pinija in Petrčane, Zaton Holiday Resort near Nin, Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik and the ŠC Višnjik Tennis Centre in Zadar. The Experiences page lists their locations and direct contacts. Guests should confirm visitor access, court surface, coaching and availability directly for their dates.
Our first pick is the padel setting at ŠC Višnjik, Zadar’s major sports complex. Padel Club Dalmatia is the flexible all-weather alternative, with three indoor and two outdoor courts. Both are independent venues: guests check current availability, equipment, prices and access directly before going.
Nin can be a history-and-salt visit, a coastal cycling goal, a sandy beach and lagoon day, or a forecast-led session for kitesurfing, windsurfing or stand-up paddleboarding at Ždrijac. Lessons and equipment are arranged directly with local providers, and wind is never guaranteed.
Yes. Complimentary on-site EV charging is included for Villa Lostura guests, making regional day trips easier for visitors arriving with an electric vehicle.
The website and Lostura Journal provide personal planning ideas and direct links. External tours, boats, restaurants, wineries and other venues are reserved and paid for directly by guests unless a specific service is confirmed separately.
