The freedom is in having a base
A road trip does not have to mean packing the car again every morning. Stay in one place, leave the bags where they are and choose the day by how you feel: a little history in Nin, a market morning in Zadar, mountain scenery in Paklenica or a longer outing towards Krka and Šibenik.
Then come back to the part that is already yours for the week: the garden, the pool, a sauna session and dinner at your own table. At Lostura, an electric car fits into that rhythm with complimentary on-site charging for guests. It is a useful part of the stay, not an extra daily charge from the villa.
A few details before you set off
Send the owner your vehicle model and ask about the connector, available charging power, cable requirements and access. Those details matter more than assuming that every wall charger works the same way. If two families are arriving in separate EVs, agree a charging rhythm together.
Private parking is available for up to three cars. For the journey to Kožino, check your preferred public charging stop and a backup, allowing a comfortable margin for traffic and a break.

Choose the size of your day
Nin or Zadar
Choose Nin for salt, small streets and a wish at Gregory’s toe. Choose Zadar for the market, history and the waterfront. Give each city its own rhythm; you do not have to join both into a sightseeing marathon.

Select the route for the people coming with you, then set navigation to the correct entrance. A canyon walk and a technical climb are different plans. Check weather and park advice before deciding how far to go.

For Krka, choose the entrance and visitor experience first. For Šibenik, let the cathedral and old town have their time. A restaurant evening at Pelegrini is another reason to come, with reservations made directly. Combine stops only if the day still feels comfortable.

Kornati is the day you leave the car behind
The fourth national-park idea is different. Choose an independent boat operator, confirm the departure harbour and parking, and drive only to the meeting point. From there, Kornati is a sea excursion, shaped by the boat, itinerary and weather.
Book and pay the operator directly, checking what is included and the cancellation arrangements. Neither a park visit nor a boat ticket is included with the villa.
What “complimentary” means
Guest charging at Villa Lostura is included. Public charging on the way to Croatia or during a day trip is not. Motorway tolls, public parking during outings, park admission, restaurants and independent activities remain separate too.
Use ELEN’s official information and map or your chosen operator to check the exact connector, current payment requirements and station notices. A charger shown on a map is a planning option, not a reserved or guaranteed working space.
The benefit is practical convenience: a place to charge where you are staying, while the rest of the group can enjoy the house. Actual range and charging time still depend on your car, the conditions and the available connection.
The best itinerary has a day off
After the longer excursion, stay local. Take a Kožino walk, spend time in the garden and pool, or make a grill day the only plan. An EV-friendly stay is not a requirement to keep driving.

Is EV charging free for Villa Lostura guests?
Yes. Complimentary on-site EV charging is included for guests staying at Villa Lostura. Charging at public stations, motorway tolls, public parking during outings, admission tickets and excursions remain separate costs.
Will the villa charger work with our electric car?
Confirm your vehicle, connector compatibility, available charging power and cable requirements with the owner before arrival. Do not assume a particular charging speed or a full overnight charge without checking your vehicle and the installation.
Can more than one family arrive with an electric car?
The villa has private parking for up to three cars. If your group brings several EVs, agree charging access and timing with the owner before the stay; parking capacity does not mean simultaneous charging for three vehicles.
Where can we check public EV charging along the journey?
Use the operator’s current map and station details, such as ELEN, and the HAC motorway map for journey planning. Check connectors, access, payment requirements and station notices before relying on a stop. Keep a backup option.
Can we drive to all four national parks from Zadar?
Paklenica, Krka and Plitvice are road-based excursions, with Plitvice the longer inland day beyond Dalmatia. Kornati is reached by boat: drive only to the chosen departure harbour, then join an independently booked boat trip.
